NOKIA-Tips & Tricks

These are some usefull tips and tricks of NOKIA phones. All the tricks are successfully tested on NOKIA 3110c. So some tricks may not work on other phone models.

Changing Folder Icons:
Go inside memory card and rename your folders as predefgames, predeftones, predefgraphics or predefthemes. Now see the change in folder preview.
NOTE: Dont use any capital letters in the folder name and be carefull about the spelling.

Opening Useless Games:
Its a trick which I found myself accidentely. Some game just freezes after loading 80 or 90 percent progress. In this case, open the game and press the RED button of the phone once immediately just before it reaches to the freezing point. Then it will ask u EXIT THE GAME OR NOT. Now press the NO button and it will complete loading 100 percent successfully. I was successfull in most of the useless games with this trick (ie Naval Battle).
NOTE : Not all freezing games will work with this trick. And in some games, only disabling the sound works fine.

Hide File From Music Player:
If u hav some mp3,aac or m4a ringtones in your memory card then the Music Player will detect these ringtones. Its normal and very annoying too. To overcome this, just delete the extension of the files with MobyExplorer (Search my blogs for the link of this app). For example, if the ringtone name is Xpressmusic.mp3 then rename it as only Xpressmusic (delete the .mp3). Now update ur music library and it will not detect ur ringtones anymore....

Bluetooth Receiving:
I found this trick also accidentally. Not only this phone but some other Nokia phones also hav big file receiving problems via bluetooth. Whenever u try2 receive a file which is bigger than ur phone memory, it shows OPERATION FAILED even u hav enough space in your memory card. In this case, open gallery and create an empty folder (not in memory card) with any name. Then press the RED button once to return to the standby screen. There u will see a warning message saying ur phone memory is full. Ignore that message by pressing the EXIT button. Thats it. Now u can receive any sized file via bluetooth.

Internet Browsing:
Actually this is not a trick, its a suggestion. If u use internet with ur phone, then browse internet with Opera Mini, the fastest phone browser in the world. There r many advantages of using opera mini. For example, u can browse big web pages with it, browsing cost is less than half comparing to the in-built browser, browsing speed is much faster, full screen browsing, page saving option and many more. So forget ur default browser and start surfing the net with Opera Mini.

Call Duration:
Some phone (like 3110c) doesn't show the call duration when a call is in progress. Its very simple. To see the duration press Menu, Log, Call Duration or Menu 271(when a call is in progress).

File Hiding:
It is the simplest thing that almost every1 knows how 2do. So I'm not describing the process here. In case u dont know, just download MobyExplorer and change the attribute of any file as hidden with this apps.

Flash File Compression:
If u r trying to upload, send or store some of your flash (.swf) files but the total size is too big, then use Jzipman and zip all the flash files into a single zip file. Now calculate and see the change in size. It will be about half of the total size of flash files. It happens because of the high compression ability of flash files.
